Repairer of the Breaches (ROTB) is the empowerment and social impact arm of Mercygate Gospel Church, Lagos. Inspired by Isaiah 58:12, we are a dedicated group of believers committed to rebuilding lives and bridging the economic and social gaps within our community.
Led by Pastor Christie and a passionate team of eight women in ministry, ROTB was created to ensure that the vulnerable among us do not just survive, but thrive. We believe that spiritual growth goes hand-in-hand with economic stability.
Our work is focused on three main pillars of transformation
We help women find financial stability by providing capital, mentorship, and support to start or grow their small businesses.
We believe in the potential of our young people. We provide them with the practical tools, equipment, and skill-acquisition support they need to build successful careers and become self-reliant.
No child should be left behind due to financial constraints. We step in the gap to pay school fees and provide educational materials, ensuring our children have a solid foundation for the future.
The vision for Repairer of the Breaches (ROTB) was born out of a deep burden and a watchful eye. As Pastor Christie and her husband pastored the wonderful congregation at Mercygate Gospel Church, They rejoiced in the spiritual growth of their members. However, as a spiritual mother, she could not ignore the silent struggles many were facing outside the church walls.
She saw faithful women struggling to feed their families because their small businesses lacked capital. She saw brilliant youth with great potential sitting idle because they could not afford the tools or equipment to start a trade. She saw parents weeping secretly because they could not pay their children’s school fees.
she then realized that while prayer is powerful and necessary, faith without works is dead. They needed to be the answer to the prayers their people were praying. They needed to step into the gap.
she shared this burden with eight incredible, God-fearing women in the ministry. They caught the vision immediately. Together, they realized that God was calling them to be the “Repairers of the Breach” mentioned in Isaiah 58:12—to rebuild the broken places in the lives of the church family.
What started as a heartfelt desire to help a few families has now grown into ROTB. Today, our team of nine women works tirelessly to ensure that the women, youth, and children of Mercygate Gospel Church find the stability, dignity, and empowerment they need to fulfill their God-given destinies.
Pastor Christie is a devoted spiritual leader, a passionate advocate for family stability, and the co-founder of Mercygate Gospel Church in Lagos, Nigeria, alongside her husband. With a deep love for God and a compassionate heart for His people, Pastor Christie has dedicated her life to serving her community through teaching, prayer, and practical outreach.
As a mother, wife, and pastor, she understands the unique challenges that families face in today’s economic climate. Her ministry extends far beyond the pulpit; she is a hands-on leader who believes that the church must be a place of refuge and restoration.
Recognizing the urgent need to uplift the most vulnerable in her congregation, she founded Repairer of the Breaches (ROTB). Through this initiative, Pastor Christie continues her lifelong mission of empowering women to be financially independent, equipping youth for the future, and ensuring children receive the education they deserve. She is driven by the belief that when you empower a family, you transform a community.
